Lydia Apartments
Supporting people with disabilities and no home
Lydia Apartments is the new home of 40 people with disabilities who were formerly homeless.
After a vacant nursing home in the Stevens Square-Loring Heights neighborhood was purchased by the Plymouth Church Neighborhood Foundation, community developers transformed it into Lydia Apartments. The apartments offer a permanent, supportive community for homeless adults with disabilities such as mental illness, HIV/AIDS, and chemical dependency. Opened in November 2003, Lydia Apartments is now home for 40 formerly homeless individuals, who receive on-site support services from Spectrum Community Mental Health.
