Plaza Latina

A vibrant new Latino marketplace

The development of Plaza Latina was driven by a cooperative of Latino entrepreneurs.

Plaza Latina—once slated to become a pawnshop—is a colorful mercado of locally owned businesses including a restaurant, salon, music store, and a number of artisan stalls. It’s part of a 35,000-square-foot commercial space that has been redeveloped along St. Paul’s Payne Avenue. The project was driven by a cooperative of the 10 emerging Latino entrepreneurs who received business training and technical support and who now occupy part of the space. The renovation also provides refurbished office space for the East Side Neighborhood Development Company.
