Centers for Working Families
Earn it, keep it, grow it—helping families move up the income ladder
Centers for Working Families help families build wealth for themselves and their communities.
Pioneered by The Annie E. Casey Foundation and now expanded nationwide through LISC, the Centers for Working Families model offers an innovative way for families to increase their earnings and income, reduce their financial transaction costs, and build wealth for themselves and their communities. In short—how to earn it, keep it, and grow it.
Because these centers bundle economic support and guidance at one convenient location, they make it easier for families to tap into all of the services they qualify for—filling in the gaps and helping them weather unexpected setbacks.
In the Twin Cities, LISC has partnered with Payne-Lake Community Partners and other community partners to establish two Centers for Working Families locations. The one on St. Paul's East Side is operated by Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota, and the one in Minneapolis' Phillips neighborhood is operated by Project for Pride in Living.
